The laminated panels slide out to cover 55–89 cm (64.5–89 cm when mounted between reveals, 55–79.5 cm when mounted on the frame) and fold back into a slim column when you press the safety button. The frame stands 66 cm high with a 72.5 cm mounting channel, so pets and toddlers stay behind the barrier without a bulky threshold bar.

The manufacturer advises using a different solution for completely open top-of-stairways without robust newel posts.
